There must not be any communication between Dr. Afzal and Unity Point neurosurgery since he recommended surgery and neurosurgery has told me for nearly 2 years surgery is not recommended. When I told him I was "confused" about the conflicting recommendations, he appeared irritated. I had to ask questions about the procedure he was recommending instead of him professionally and voluntarily explaining it to me. I do not plan on returning to his office.

Dr. Afzal is the most caring doctor! I am so grateful for him. He takes care of the pain I have in my back and he took care of my mother for years and gave her many years of relief from pain. He is the best in the area!

Dr. Afzal is a direct yet personable physician. He takes the time to inform you on procedures and clarifies any questions you may have. His skill set is masterful, I've gone to him for pain management procedures now 3 times and each time he has impressed. Thank You Dr. AFZAL!
